25th April : Oban FM Big Charity Ceilidh

This event will take place at MacTavishes from 8pm. Tickets cost £6.00. Please call 01631 564628 for more information.

1st - 4th May : Highlands and Islands Music and Dance Festival

The festival celebrates 25 years in 2008. With everything from Country Dancing to Pipe bands, the festival in Oban has something to offer everyone. Please visit the Highlands and Islands Music and Dance Festival website for more information.

28th June : Oban Fire Station Open Day

The Fire Station will be open between 14.00 - 16.00 for all to go and visit for free.

1st - 8th July: West Highland Tennis Championships

This Grand Prix event is one of the most popular tournaments in Scotland. There are competitions for Grand Prix Singles, Under 21 Singles, Championship Doubles, Veterans and Handicap participants. Please visit the West Highland Tennis Championships website for more information.

Wed 27 August 2008 - World Solo Piping Piobaireachd Competitions

Held at various locations in the town centre, including the Corran Halls, the worlds finest solo pipers will be in Oban to compete for a variety of historic prizes including the Highland Society of London's Gold Medal. You cannot hear finer piobaireachd playing anywhere in the world.

Thu 28 August 2008 - Oban Games at Mossfield Park

One of Scotland's premier highland games and certainly the largest to be held midweek, this is a day for all the family. Dancing, piping, athletics, history, visitor races and much more.
